Whitman-Hanson Regional School District

Guidelines for 2021-22 School Year

The Whitman-Hanson Regional School District School Committee, at its meeting on March 10, 2021, voted to participate in School Choice for the 2021-22 School year for Grades 9 and 10 up to 20 students per grade as well as any resident student that moves out of district, at the discretion of the Superintendent or Designee. The number of students admitted is based upon space available as determined by the school district.

Applications for School Choice may be obtained on the district website via the web at

Applications for School Choice at the high school and all accompanying documentation should be mailed to the high school main office using the address below, or emailed to

All other grade level applications for School Choice and all accompanying documentation should be mailed to the Office of the Superintendent, or emailed to or mailed to:

The deadline for submitting an application is 4:00 pm on Friday, May 14, 2021.  

Students accepted by the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District will be notified via written confirmation by approximately May 21, 2021.  Parents must make a commitment, in writing, to accept placement when notified by the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District no later than June 4, 2021.

The following information is required when submitting the application:

  • Copy of current report card 


  • Copy of last year’s report card


  • I.E.P. (If applicable)


  • MCAS Results


  • Discipline Records **

** As stated in M.G.L. c.71, s.37L, a student transferring into a local system must provide the new school system with a complete school record of entering student.  Said record shall include, but not be limited to any incidents involving suspension or violation of criminal acts or any incident reports in which such student was charged with any suspended act.


Note:   Whitman-Hanson Regional School District does not provide transportation for school choice students.  Daily transportation of your child is your responsibility.

Please be advised applications must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on May 14, 2021.
