Whitman-Hanson Regional School District Building Event Request Information

The community metric affects whether the town is low risk or not.  Currently Hanson is in the red category, therefore not considered low risk and the 25 person limit stands.  If Hanson comes out of red but the town was red for any of the 3 weeks prior, then the gathering order would revert back to 25 people. 

Lower risk communities are defined as cities and towns that have not been a “red” community in any of the last three weekly Department of Public Health (DPH) weekly reports.

Revised Gatherings Order:

  • The limit for indoor gatherings remains at a maximum of 25 people for all communities.
  • Outdoor gatherings at private residences and in private backyards will remain at a maximum of 50 people for all communities.
  • Outdoor gatherings at event venues and in public settings will have a limit of 50 people in Step I communities, and a limit of 100 people in lower risk, Step II communities.

Effective October 5, a limited number of sectors will be eligible to reopen, with restrictions, in Step II of Phase III for lower risk communities only:

  • Indoor performance venues will be permitted to open with 50% capacity with a maximum of 250 people. 
  • Outdoor performance venue capacity will increase to 50% with a max of 250 people.
  • For arcades and indoor and outdoor recreation businesses, additional Step II activities like trampolines, obstacle courses, roller rinks and laser tag will also be permitted to open and capacity will increase to 50%.
  • Fitting rooms will be permitted to open in all types of retail stores.  
  • Gyms, museums, libraries and driving and flight schools will also be permitted to increase their capacity to 50%.

Building Use Office hours are as follows:

Monday            1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Wednesday      12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Friday                1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Please note: All requests will not be approved until Whitman-Hanson Regional School District events are scheduled. With regards to gym, turf and field requests, Whitman-Hanson Regional School District schedules our student events as each season begins. Any requests for these areas will not be approved until all Whitman-Hanson Regional School District Athletic schedules have been entered. Throughout each W-H Athletic season, events may have to reschedule at a moment's notice. WHRSD Building Use Coordinator works directly with WHRHS Athletic Director and we will alert groups of any changes as we receive the information.

IMPORTANT: Please indicate the date, time and school requested. Applications will be accepted No later than the time frame listed above. Requests may take up to 3 weeks to process.

Along with your request, a Building Use Application and Certificate of Liability Insurance must be completed.
